Liberty Property Trust, one of the largest owners and managers of office and industrial properties in the United States, seeks the General Manager (GM) for the Comcast Center.  Liberty Property requires a general manager who can provide his/her team with the skills, support and leadership to do their jobs effectively.  Managing a total team of over 100 people; including direct reports of an Assistant General Manager and Office Administrator, the GM is responsible for an operating budget in excess of $10 million Liberty’s culture engenders high performance and embraces customer service at all levels and functions.  Comcast Corporation considers the Comcast Center its home and expects the highest level of customer service.  Consequently, the GM will need to anticipate needs and must exercise judgment, emotional maturity, interpersonal savvy and diplomacy, and the effective communication skills to delight Comcast and the other tenants with terrific service.

Possessing a very strong work-ethic, tireless energy, and a can-do attitude, the successful candidate will be willing to place the customers’ needs above all else and must have stellar skills in building relationships and communicating effectively.  The GM of Comcast Center is expected to be the hands-on leader of a dynamic environment with high demands.  The ideal candidate will be substantive, sophisticated, and yet understand subtlety and grasp details and nuances.  Financially astute and politically savvy, this individual must have strong technical and operational abilities in terms of understanding the concepts of how building systems operate and managing contractors and vendors.  Demonstrating experience in delivering a high level of service and sense of urgency is a key requirement. Equally important is someone who can select, manage, and reward his or her team and imbue a service orientation that is applied to all levels.

Designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects and located in downtown Philadelphia, the Comcast Center is a beautiful 58-story, 975-foot high office tower encompassing approximately 1,250,000 rentable square feet, including 36,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space; four three-story stacked atria; a one-half acre landscaped public plaza; a new entrance to Philadelphia’s Suburban Station via a dramatic 120 foot-high glass enclosed winter garden; a 500-seat concourse-level gourmet market; and an 87 private-space underground parking garage. The building incorporates a sustainable design approach based on U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) principles making it the tallest LEED® certified building in the nation.  Comcast Center was awarded LEED® Gold certification under the USGBC’s Core & Shell program in April 2009.  Comcast Center held its grand opening in June 2008 and serves as the new world headquarters for Comcast Corporation and is the regional headquarters for Citizens Bank.
