Its primary customers include general contractors, public works entities, development firms, and private individuals. Job Duties and Responsibilities 

The function of the Chief Financial Officer / Controller is to act as the primary point person in evolving and improving the financial, operational, and reporting aspects for the business and to oversee all accounting, reporting and cash management matters of the Company.  Based at the Company’s headquarters, this position is responsible for a staff of up to 3-4 accounting professionals and managing the day-to-day financial affairs of the Company.  The Chief Financial Officer will work collaboratively with the entire senior management team in seeking best practices in meeting the Company’s strategic and financial goals and objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning, Financial Reporting, Accounting, Cash Management, Taxes, Insurance, Compliance, and Systems. 

Position Specifications We require a minimum of fifteen years of progressive experience in construction / excavation accounting and financial reporting.  Experience will likely have been in a senior level position in management and operations, financial operations and/or as Chief Financial Officer of a relevant organization.  Qualified candidates will have a strong and broad accounting technical foundation, and a solid working knowledge of Timberline software.  A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a CPA designation is required.  

Qualified candidates must demonstrate a depth of experience in the financial metrics of managing the financial affairs of a company and the ability to effectively synthesize and communicate operating and performance results to constituencies both within and outside the Company. They will have proven experience with financial reporting and capital planning processes and systems, GAAP rules and procedures and related accounting functions.  

Candidates must demonstrate the key qualities of a pro-active leader; the ability to contribute to and truly understand and impact the business objectives of senior management, and to create, align and grow functions and processes to support these goals and objectives.
