Chief Engineer
EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate need in Research Triangle Park for a Chief Engineer. This individual will be responsible for ensuring maximum critical Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEPF) asset uptime.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Analyzing MEPF service provider staffing requirements as needed to meet business objectives and management requirements
- Providing technical and engineering support to client management with respect to critical MEPF, including development and implementation of emergency and routine procedures
- Directing preventative and corrective maintenance programs from initiation through completion and invoicing to ensure that work conforms to both EMCOR standards and client cost and performance specifications.
- Utilizing CMMS, including data capture, backlog management, labor management / resource productivity, performance reporting, material management, as required to meet strategic long-term account objectives.
- Monitoring and reporting on all aspects of mechanical and electrical capacity and supporting MEPF infrastructure reliability for data center clients.
- Performing infrastructure capacity management and reporting, analyzing equipment performance reports, and making recommendations for improvement.
- Performing quality audits for all service providers.
- Developing capital and expense budget input including all appropriate elements, assumptions, historical data, and projected changes in business practices or current agreements.
- Managing finances to ensure achievement of performance goals within approved budget guidelines for controllable items.
- Managing procurement function for vendors and contractors, soliciting bids, negotiating terms, and contract administration to ensure the timely and cost effective completion for each phase of the subcontract or project related activity.
- Managing and supporting emergency preparedness and disaster recovery participating in cross-functional teams, developing department specific plans and procedures, providing staff training, and ensure systems and procedures are tested.
Qualified candidate must have at least 7-10 years of relevant experience in Operations and Maintenance (O & M) mechanical or electrical equipment/systems experience in a critical environment with supervisory experience. Active licensing and/or certifications – Master Electrician, Refrigeration Operating License, Universal CFC or similar – is desirable.
