Newmark Knight Frank is seeking a Senior Proposal Writer to join their office in New York City.  The Proposal Writer position involves coordinating the activities of brokers and multiple corporate departments to formulate responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) aimed at procuring commercial real estate transaction and advisory, facilities management, consulting and project management business.

 

The position requires that all aspects of developing a response - from compiling the required information to formatting the proposal - be completed in a timely, efficient manner to meet deadlines. The Proposal Writer is expected to organize, attend and contribute to meetings with brokers to ensure that all questions in the RFP can be answered. In addition, the candidate will be expected to bring, or quickly acquire, a comprehensive knowledge of commercial real estate transactions and corporate portfolio advisory issues on a national and global basis.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the RFP response process from beginning to end
  • Coordinate with brokers and corporate departments to gather necessary information for proposal
  • Answer RFP questions through original writing and the use of pre-formulated responses
  • Create and edit material to be used for marketing activities and presentations
  • Update the proposal log to record all ongoing activity
  • Update the company Intranet with relevant proposal information and templates

  • Pro-active, creative thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous proposals and prioritize workload
  • Ability to work in a demanding, very deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to organize the efforts of the parties involved in the response process
  • Ability to work with technical as well as creative teams
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to operate comfortably and fluidly in a staggered workflow

 

 

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in business, economics or real estate preferred
  • Three-five years experience in a corporate writing position in a real estate firm
  • Experience working in commercial real estate or client-service industry
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat
