FHA / HUD Multifamily Underwriter - Arbor Commercial Mortgage, LLC

Arbor’s Boston office has an immediate opening for an FHA/HUD Multifamily Underwriter.  The main function of this position will be to underwrite multifamily and healthcare loans under various FHA/HUD programs.  Responsibilities include the review of all relevant underwriting documentation, completion of all necessary due diligence, preparation of the loan underwriting workbook and narrative and ensure that the forms/exhibits in the loan file comply with HUD’s requirements.  The Underwriter will also direct and manage the activities of the assigned FHA Analyst(s) for the preparation of Pre-Application and Firm Commitment application packages.  Other responsibilities include following up with HUD and/or responding to HUD’s questions/comments on loan packages that have been submitted for HUD approval. 

Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related discipline, have a thorough understanding of underwriting for FHA loan programs and have MAP approval from HUD or satisfy the requirements for MAP approval. Minimum of one year experience in FHA multifamily underwriting. Section 232/LEAN underwriting experience and HUD approval is a plus.  Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word and possess excellent communication, multi-tasking, organizational and analytical skills. The ideal candidate will be hard working, a quick learner, detail oriented, well organized and have the ability to work alone as well as with others to reach a common goal.  Some travel may be required.
