Position: General Manager, Facility Management
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Responsibilities and Duties (but not limited to):
Provides strategic vision for the Operation. Responsible for cultivating a strong culture of safety, on-time performance and excellence in customer service. Organizes and directs the Management Team to deliver the Services in a manner consistent with this culture. Responsible for liaison with our client based in Calgary and all other relevant stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and operational efficiency.

· Strategic planning and application of long-term goals and objectives to operational plans.
· Project management principles and practices within the Facility Management industry.

Experience and Education
· 15 or more years of experience, 10 of which are in Operations and 5 in a Senior Management position in the Facility Management industry:
o Directing, planning, developing and implementing strategic and operational plans; service delivery and monitoring frameworks; policies and strategic direction.
o Managing multi-disciplinary teams and working groups.
o Monitoring and analyzing the effectiveness of strategies, services, strategic issues and initiatives; developing and implementing new or modified project policies, strategic directions, and service delivery.
· Industry training programs or relevant post-secondary education.
Major Responsibilities
· Provides strategic direction and leadership to the Service Delivery Team.
· Cultivates a culture focused on safety, regulatory compliance, on-time performance and service excellence.
· Supervises the Management Team: providing guidance and direction, establishing goals, determining priorities, authorizing training, and evaluating performance.
· Sets standards and policies; approves plans.
· Fosters an effective team environment.
· Controls costs and maximizes asset utilization
Specific Tasks
Safety and Regulatory Compliance
· Lead by example in taking responsibility for own safety and welfare and that of colleagues, contractors and customers and any others who might be affected by activities.
· Participate in safety inspections and review Health and Safety Inspections.
· Monitor performance of Eurest’s Safety Management System and Regulatory Compliance Plan.
· Sustain programs aimed at continuous improvement, and collaborate with organizations and associations devoted to safety research and education.
Operational Excellence
· Direct development of comprehensive performance monitoring program.
· Report on Key Performance Indicators.
· Review quality control inspections and audits.
· Participate in performance monitoring of front-line personnel
Customer Service
· Review customer service inspections and audits as part of operational oversight function.
· Take periodic ‘evaluation trips’ to monitor performance.
