Our firm has been retained to recruit a Vice President of Acquisitions to focus on the company's alternative investments that include multi-tenant retail, non-retail, joint venture and the more complex and structured investments. This is a critical position within the investment team and reports directly to the Senior Vice President and Chief Acquisitions Officer. The successful candidate will be a senior member of the transaction team, and will operate on a national level.
SUMMARY:
Company is a 30-year old real estate investment company and a sponsor of non-traded, registered REITs, headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. The company's primary focus is single-tenant; free-standing or big box retail real estate with the potential to generate consistent and predictable income, along with high-quality tenants and the prospect for growth in existing leases. The Company's strategy focuses on investing in retail commercial properties with National or super regional brand tenants; long term leases; or, double or triple net leases.
The company uses conservative financing in the acquisition of properties and seeks to build portfolios diversified by geography, industry and tenant type. In addition to net lease retail investments, Company targets approximately 20% of its capital in multi-tenant retail and 20% in non-retail investments. The company also actively considers joint venture investments.
Since founding in 1979, Company's consolidated portfolio consists of 905 owned and managed assets compromising over 27 million square feet purchased for approximately $4.7 billion across 45 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Company and its related entities acquired more than $1.3 billion in 2008 alone.
The management team consists of seasoned professionals with extensive experience in the acquisition, development, leasing, management, and sale of real estate.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Vice President of Acquisitions will be responsible for identifying, underwriting, executing and closing investments on a national scale. He or she will be a senior member of the acquisitions team; will focus primarily on multi-tenant retail and non-retail investments. Based on current capital flows, targeted investment levels for these products will be in the range of $200 to $250 million.

The successful candidate will be an experienced and sophisticated investment professional with proven acquisitions skills and an established track record in sourcing, underwriting, and closing investments. He/she will have a comprehensive understanding of the technical issues associated with net lease and multi-tenant investments, and possess well established relationships within the investment community. This individual will have a strong "deal orientation" and exceptional negotiating skills balanced with strong technical skills and a consultative approach to client management and development.

The Vice President of Acquisitions must be a high performing professional with broad experience and proven skills to effectively perform the role as outlined. As such, the compensation plan for this individual will be commensurate with the skills required of the position. Compensation will be comprised of a base salary plus bonus.
