The Vice President of Finance will provide financial leadership to Phillips Edison & Company (PECO) in the best interests of its stakeholders. Responsibilities will include:

With the CFO, ensure the development and implementation  of a strategic plan for PECO to maximize shareholder value consistent with sustainable business practices, and recommend it and report progress against it.

With the CFO, ensure the development and implementation of an annual operating plan including business plans, operational requirements, organizational structure, staffing and budgets that support the strategic plan.

Establish accounting consolidation procedures, systems, and processes. Work closely with Chief Investment Officer, COO, Controller, and Portfolio Managers to establish property performance tracking data measures and reporting.

Help select appropriate accounting systems and work with selected accounting firm for audits and other firms for independent financial reporting. Assume responsibility for the successful implementation of MRI and CFB.

Help prepare the company for public company accounting and financial reporting responsibilities in anticipation of future growth. Ensure that all financial activities are GAAP compliant.

Be the company's main conduit to public and private capital markets ( equity and debt).

With the CEO, ensure the accuracy, completeness, integrity and appropriate disclosure of PECO's financial statements and other financial information through appropriate policies and procedures.

With the CFO, assure adequate liquidity for the operation.

Serve as an external spokesperson and liaison for PECO, including effectively managing relations with PECO's external stakeholders, especially stakeholders in the financial and investment communities.

Be a community leader and ensure that PECO makes and keeps appropriate commitments to the well-being and improvement of the communities in which it operates.

Manage the development of associates in the finance department, write and execute a succession plan in order to meet PECO's needs

Qualifications

Minimum of 15 years of progressive management experience culminating in a C-level financial role at a publicly traded real estate company. The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader, with a record of achieving results individually and through others; an intelligent, strategic thinker and tactical executor with proven ability to achieve plans while maintaining the highest ethical standards. Broad knowledge and experience in commercial real estate (particularly retail) with 15+ years of business experience in this market and a minimum of 10 years at the executive level.

Seasoned management professional with strong finance and corporate strategy acumen. Hands-on performer- willing and capable of helping to build a finance function to attain industry leadership. Excellent communication skills, with the capability of articulating the company's financial status. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight time frames and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings. Must possess an entrepreneurial business spirit and be able to thrive in a rapid growth, nimble environment where change is the norm.
