The Myers-Lawson School of Construction (MLSoC) was established not to simply add to technical understanding; but to add courses and teaching pedagogy to more fully develop and grow the individual students who take part in the degrees and outreach efforts established by the MLSoC

Core Focus:

The BS CEM degree is offered to students in the College of Engineering The BS BC Degree is offered to students in the College of Architecture and Urban Studies who wish to pursue a career in the construction/development industry. The Master of Science in Building Construction at Virginia Tech is awarded in the College of Architecture and Urban Studies MS C.E. with an emphasis in Construction Engineering & Management The MS CE Degree in the College of Engineering has been designed to prepare students for an advanced degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in construction engineering and management. PhD C.E. with an emphasis in Construction Engineering & Management Ph.D. Civil Engineering Construction PhD - Env. Design and Planning - Construction Building Science The Ph.D. program in Environmental Design and Planning in the College of Architecture and Urban Studies

Program Highlights:

Through the joint venture between the Dept. of Building Construction (BC) in the College of Architecture and the Vecellio Construction Engineering and Management Program (VCEMP) in the Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the College of Engineering, the school provides a uniform identity for excellence and provides a path for growth in construction education, research and outreach within Virginia Tech, to the academic community and to the construction industry.
