Firm & Position Overview:

Our client is a global architecture firm focused exclusively on interiors that provides strategic planning, interior architecture, and design services for corporations, businesses, and institutions.

The successful candidate for this role will assume full responsibility for planning, coordinating and administering our Client’s most significant projects in addition to other major projects in a manner that is consistent with our Client’s standards and objectives, as well as contributing to both office and firm-wide marketing and business development goals.

 

Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Manage our Client’s most significant projects and/or multiple large projects to completion, including work

performed by internal and external resources

  • Coordinate engineering work to ensure compliance with design concept
  • Coordinate project teams to ensure timely completion of documents

Concept Development and Presentation

  • Work with design and technical teams to shape and understand the design concepts. Present and gains approval of concepts to the client

Budgeting

  • Establish and ensure adherence to set budget. Immediately inform Sr. PM or Project Director and/or client of any potential variances to the budget and make appropriate modifications

Collections

  • Manage collections for assigned projects. Immediately inform Finance Manager if there is an issue with timely collections. Discuss untimely payments with client to secure commitment to pay

Business Development and Marketing

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and potential clients
  • Participate in marketing strategy sessions and presentations
  • Participate in industry organizations to increase firm's profile and develop marketing opportunities

Staff Management

  • Assign tasks, oversee work and provide feedback to staff assign to project. Develop skills of staff for future projects. May accomplish tasks by directing efforts of other project managers

Client Service

  • Manage overall client relationship from initial assessment of client needs, through design concept presentations and final delivery of project. Ensure positive relationships resulting in additional business or referred work

Technical

  • Ensures adherence to office and firm-wide technical standard

 

Experience and Profile:

  • 10+ years’ experience producing design projects including 7+ years managing projects
  • Licensed architect preferred
  • Graduate of architecture, design or business school: equivalent experience may be substituted
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the commercial interior architecture and/or design industry
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of interior design including:
    • Building systems, codes and ADA requirements;
    • Demonstrated ability to write and negotiate contracts for services, consultants and contracts;
    • Proven ability to solve contract and administration issues within established design context
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design intent and practices
  • Intermediate MS Office application skills, Intermediate Revit skills; Intermediate Adobe Creative Suite skills; Affinity Program skills or equivalent
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced presentation and graphic communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally with all levels of staff including
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead all levels of staff through a combination of direct authority and subject matter expertise
