Revantage Corporate Services is a newly formed company created to provide a shared services platform consisting of HR, Finance, Tax, Legal, Risk Management and Technology professionals to support Blackstone’s various real estate businesses in multifamily (LivCor, commercial office (Equity Office), retail (ShopCore), and hotel (BRE Hotels and Resorts) assets. Revantage Corporate Services is headquartered in Chicago, IL, and has approximately 150 employees.

 
Responsibilities
 

Performs independent research and analytical reviews in support of Property Tax Department.  Maintains client databases and Group administrative systems; ensures database and Group report integrity.  Identifies trends and exposures; communicates analysis results and action plans to Group member. Provides analytical and administrative support to Department.  Responsible for tasks in a time constraint/penalty oriented environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Financial Reporting, Tax Analysis, Research and Procedures

Working under direction of senior staff, prepares information packages, gathers required reports, generates required authorization documents in an efficient and timely manner.  Monitors compliance requirements in conjunction with Senior Staff.  Interacts with external tax consultants, attorneys, and appraisers as directed/required.

  1. Performs analytical projects for the Property Tax Department including value, expense, and tax function processes.
  2. Assists with tax bill and appeal administration.
  3. Assists in personal property compliance administration.  Provides materials to third-party service providers.  Verifies all mandatory forms are filed accurately and timely by outsource service provider.
  4. Assists with maintenance and creation of department performance reports.
  5. Assists in assessment and financial information data entry; works with senior staff to ensure records are complete.
  6. Requests and tracks all financial statements, rent rolls, etc.  Reviews and coordinates financial reporting and data integration requirements.
  7. Beginning to intermediate research projects, including subjects such as (but not limited to) title policy review, jurisdiction tax policies, property re-parceling and escalation research.
  8. Other research projects as assigned.

Annual Budget Process

Assists with the preparation of property tax budgets, including jurisdictional research and expense analysis.

  1. Maintains annual budget project plan at direction of senior staff.   Assists with creation and review of property tax budgets.  Assists with distribution and supports staff.
  2. Assists with estimating annual consultant expenses for property budgets.
  3. Provides support to department as directed during budget process.

Department Administrative Functions

  1. Assists in creating and updating records, etc. to reflect changes to portfolio (acquisitions and dispositions).  Provides analysis and confirms record accuracy utilizing due diligence reports, closing materials, and other resources.  Ensures proper acquisition and disposition procedures are met. 
  2. Assists with review of tax bill and invoice processing.  Ensures that all tax bills are accounted for and processed timely.  Responsibilities include variance identification and analysis for management. Confirms that special handling or payment applications are addressed.  Assists with refund and consultant invoice management.
  3. Identifies and researches materials to confirm accurate, complete records.
  4. Provides year end and ad-hoc reports to consultants. Reformats reports as required by local jurisdictions.
  5. Serves as resource to the Department.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Performs all analyst functions in secondary capacity as required to meet client and management project requirements.
  2. Performs special projects support, including analysis, worksheets and identification of data as directed.
  3. Assists in maintenance of all computer and file systems including, but not limited to, input of new client property and assessment records.
  4. Communicates status of projects with appropriate documentation and performs follow-up until the projects are complete.
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications
 

Bachelor’s degree in business related field (accounting or finance) with 3 + years business experience. Familiarity with real estate operations, legal documents and due diligence process associated with the acquisition and sale of properties a plus.  Extensive Excel spreadsheet and Computer experience required.  Strong oral and written communication skills are required.  Must be able to work independently and in a group environment. Must be able to work in a multi-task environment, be a team player and have strong organizational and detail skills. Travel may be required.
