A fully-integrated national multifamily investment, development, and property management company is looking for an Investment Analyst to support the execution of the Company’s investment platform in the Irvine/West US Region by performing financial analyses of investment opportunities, preparing appropriate documents to facilitate the underwriting and closing of real estate transactions, interfacing with brokers, equity partners, institutional clients, and the Company’s investment leadership, and tracking and reporting on the status of multifamily transactions within the assigned geographic markets.  This position interfaces with senior Greystar executives, so applicants must have dynamic verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of previous experience in real estate, private equity, investment banking, consulting, accounting or other finance with quantitative background preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related major, business or finance a plus
  • Expert-level proficiency of Microsoft Office specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem solving ability with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and own professional development
  • Capable of handling large volume of work; good organizational skills and ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Enthusiastic and motivated to succeed in a team environment
  • Flexible to travel/work in different geographic locations
  • Understands real estate financial concepts such as cap rate, NOI, IRR, equity multiple, and cash flow waterfall
  • Capable of building a real estate acquisitions model from scratch; financial modeling skills will be tested in advance to filter out candidates that do not possess the requisite Excel skills

 Responsibilities - Primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Conducts a wide range of real estate financial analysis, with an emphasis on new investment opportunities and existing asset performance
  • Underwrites a wide variety of individual investment opportunities and portfolio transactions
  • Prepares memos and presentations for Greystar’s internal investment committee and external capital partners
  • Aggregates property-level data to evaluate fund level performance and sensitivities
  • Manages the reporting platform for Greystar’s various portfolios and partnerships
  • Implements detailed knowledge of various partnership agreements and venture structures
  • Performs market research to guide Greystar’s broader investment strategy
  • Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes
