The Senior Analyst, Real Estate Research is responsible for conducting property markets, capital markets, and macroeconomic data research and analysis. This position provides research needed to execute ARA's Investments, Investor Relations, Portfolio Management, and Asset Management functions. This role requires an individual with a strong interest in commercial real estate research and analysis.
Manage and update research and data sources used in the development and presentation of the firm’s House View, including macroeconomic, capital market, geographic market, and property market variables.
Assist with development and maintenance of proprietary market and industry research that contributes to the firm’s investment strategies and capital raising activities.
Conduct research on special topics in support of the firm’s investment, portfolio management, capital raising and asset management activities.
Manage and update quarterly economic, property fundamentals and capital market dashboards.
Update and analyze the impact of changes in the variables used in formulating the firm’s proprietary property market ratings.
Update and analyze the impact of changes in the variables used in formulating the firm’s proprietary market rent growth forecasts.
Assist with preparation of client deliverables and presentations, including quarterly economic commentaries.
Conduct specialized research focused on innovative thought leadership topics.
Undergraduate business degree in real estate, economics or a related field.
Advanced degree strongly preferred.
With an advanced degree, at least two years of substantive commercial real estate research experience is required, including proficiency in the use of Costar, Real Capital Analytics, Axiometrics, NCREIF and similar external data sources.
Without an advanced degree, a minimum of four years of substantive commercial real estate research experience is required as well as proficiency in the tools mentioned above.
Demonstrated ability to aggregate and stratify large quantities of data and the capability to distill information into a concise presentation format.
Exceptionally well organized, detail-oriented, flexible, self-starter, who is confident, analytical, technical and resourceful.
Strong writing and oral communication skills.
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse personality types.
Ability to work well under pressure with compressed project time frames.
