KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Managing Director and Principal will be integral members of the investment team. The team will work closely to identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities for the fund. The platform seeks to recruit high-caliber investment professionals to drive the growth of the platform through strategic and tactical investments in target markets across North America.   

Key responsibilities will include:

Evaluating, executing and managing real estate investments to maximize returns, and sourcing / identifying investment opportunities through strategic partnerships.
Performing detailed underwriting and assessment of investment opportunities; structuring, negotiating and obtaining financing for a range of transactions across multiple US markets.
Assisting in the implementation of the investment strategy, framework and evaluation process; driving the investment thesis around the real estate acquisitions effort.
Growing, developing and maintaining a professional network to support the evaluation of deals; creating strong relationships with operating partners, investors and executives.
Directing and managing the efforts of a team, including the hiring and mentoring of more junior team members.
Managing, when necessary, the operational aspects of the portfolio, including the selection of third party property management firms and the oversight of capital improvements, leasing and redevelopment strategies, or other projects.
Maintaining a strong and collaborative team culture and dynamic organizational climate; encouraging teamwork and open communication within the entire organization.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

10-15 years of relevant experience in direct real estate investment at a real estate private equity firm or a respected office operating platform.
A well-developed understanding of the investment parameters, strategies, and goals of a value-added platform; extensive due diligence and transaction experience in the office asset class.
Strong value creation and financial skills, including an ability to analyze, structure, and negotiate real estate transactions, including joint ventures and co-investments.
Multi-dimensional thinker with excellent problem solving and quantitative skills, with a solid command of ARGUS and other real estate valuation tools / methodologies.
Experience working in various US cities with deep market knowledge of supply and demand, vacancy, absorption, and micro and macro-economic issues that affect commercial office properties.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with real estate operating partners, executives, bankers and brokers.
Demonstrated team orientation; entrepreneurial, self-starter; self-guided work ethic.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate strategy and performance to investors.
Ability to implement strong risk management processes and controls.
A solid thinker with sound judgment, vision, and a proven ability to get the job done. 


EDUCATION

Strong academic performance and achievement.  Undergraduate degree from a recognized university required; advanced degree a plus.

 

COMPENSATION

The compensation package will be market, with a focus on performance.
