CRE Bridge Loan Originator

The company is seeking an experienced commercial real estate originator that is capable of sourcing at least $30 million of short-term bridge loans per year.  The company is based in New York City and originates nationally.  Loan sizes should be around $2-5 million but can go up to $10 million.   Loan pricing is typically 9-12% plus applicable points.

The originator is expected to have a strong network of brokers and other industry contacts (such as vendors, service providers, and lenders).  This position reports directly to the investment committee and will have support from the company’s underwriters and asset managers for the following responsibilities:

  • Maintain a robust pipeline
  • Price and size deals that fit the company’s parameters
  • Prepare deal summaries for initial credit approval
  • Create term sheets
  • Collect property information and financial information from borrowers
  • Visit and inspect properties
  • Work closely with the team during underwriting and due diligence
  • Negotiate/structure deals and find creative solutions
  • Present transactions to the investment committee for final approval
  • Oversee the legal documentation and closing process
  • Ability to find participations or to outsource deals that don’t fit the box
  • Supervise the asset management of closed loans
  • Actively monitor borrowers and exit strategies for each asset
  • Create budgets and reports for the company’s senior management, lenders, and investors



  • Self-motivated and highly-focused
  • Over 5 years of experience and proven track record as a real estate debt originator
  • Ability to communicate timely and professionally with all parties
  • Ability to coordinate multiple active transactions at any time
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Knowledge of Excel and Argus is a plus
