Facilities Operations Manager, Engineering | Commercial Class A Office

Our growing commercial real estate company is currently in need of a responsible individual to fill the position of Facilities Operations Manager, Engineering. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal operating results. The successful candidate will oversee the company’s facility operations, manage construction projects, oversee capital projects, oversee engineering staff, and manage all service providers. The successful candidate will oversee tenant improvement projects from inception to final completion and oversee all facilities maintenance operations and initiatives. The scope of your activities will include facility management, construction management, and oversite of engineering department, which includes Chief Engineer and three Building Engineers, in addition to financial management of the operation and capital planning


  • Coordinate system repairs and monitor system performance
  • Oversee and supervise team of maintenance technicians
  • Execute equipment audits and record-taking policies
  • Coordinate all Capital Projects on the implementation of new building projects
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols
  • Oversee coordination, implementation, and performance of all vendor and supplier relationships / contracts.
  • Perform inspections of facility.
  • Closely track the status of all work orders for location and provide timely communications and weekly reports keeping managers apprised of any issues.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment.

· Create, implement, and control the annual operating budget.

· Determine needed resources from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.

· Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.


  • 10+ years’ experience in HVAC engineering and/operations management position
  • Experience with a high-rise developer or contractor a plus
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Advanced understanding of risk management policies and procedures
  • Extensive experience managing budgets for large construction projects
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
  • Strong understanding of Class “A” asset operations and building systems structure –Able to read and understand complex electrical, mechanical and automation systems
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
