Position:         Asset Management Associate, Multifamily Division           

Continental Realty Corporation (CRC) is seeking an Asset Management Associate with strong critical thinking skills, looking for an opportunity to learn through active management of a diverse multi-family portfolio. Individual will be responsible for operational reporting and financial analysis, as well as collaboration with in-house and third-party operators. Associate will assist Asset Managers and will be expected to manage a small portfolio of their own.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:                                          

  • Analyze and report on key performance indicators for both operational and financial performance.Reporting will be informational for owners and must be actionable for operational managers.

  • In advance of the annual budgeting process, provide upfront performance expectations to the operations team, assist with budget reviews and approve the final operating budget.

  • With inputs from the Operations and Construction departments, this role will be responsible for tracking the five-year capital needs across portions of the CRC portfolio. Associate will work with Asset Managers on in-depth assessments of scope and timing for near-term capital recommendations.

  • On assets undergoing renovations or other repositioning efforts, Asset Management Associate will be responsible for tracking project status, job cost and variances on a regular basis.This includes site tours.

  • Meet with Regional Managers regularly to review property performance and highlight notable trends to the operations team.This includes assessing cash flows, balance sheets, sub-market fundamentals, and other key performance indicators identified by the Asset Management team.

  • The Asset Management Associate will occasionally present directly to ownership on high-level financial, operational performance results as well as sub-market happenings. Candidates must be strong, professional presenters with a desire to grow.

  • Present proposed distribution schedules annually to senior members of the Asset Management team, the Investor Reporting Department and to ownership.

  • Assist Asset Managers on property acquisitions, dispositions and financing.           Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in multifamily asset management or multifamily management / operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.Advanced degree in Real Estate, Accounting, Finance or MBA preferred.

  • A strong understanding of operational intricacies, real estate accounting, finance and the overall real estate industry.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize projects and efficiently work independently at times

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills as well as strong overall professional presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and operational data and prepare analysis and reports

  • Demonstrated excellence in Excel

  • Experience with property management software (preferably Yardi) and rent optimization software (preferably LRO) is preferred
