Hamister Group, LLC, one of Buffalo’s Top Private Companies in its 40th year of operation, is looking for a Development Analyst. The Development Analyst will work with the business development team to support the company’s growth in developing hotels and senior housing assets that meet or exceed our return thresholds.

Reporting to the Director of Development & Planning, the ideal candidate will (but not be limited to):

  • Complete investment analysis and prepare investment packages on hotel and senior housing development opportunities, including review of market data, demographic analysis and detailed cash flow projections.
  • Coordinate due diligence activities on prospective projects.
  • Participate and assist in the procurement of any necessary entitlements from various approval boards in which Hamister projects are located.
  • Conduct market research and monitor market information as necessary.


This position requires technical problem solving and high standards of accuracy and quality based on established systems, technologies and guidelines.  A well-suited candidate will possess a commitment to efficiently achieve high quality results, and a thoughtful, persevering, self-disciplined approach to achieve accurate, detailed work.

Because of the expertise developed in this position, it is necessary to regularly initiate and communicate viewpoints on problems and opportunities in a factual, straightforward manner.

Overall, this position requires a valued technical expert expected to deliver high quality, accurate results, while efficiently maintaining and enhancing existing organizational systems and standards.

  • Bachelor Degree required in Business, Finance, Urban Planning or Real Estate.  Masters of Business Administration, Real Estate or Planning a plus.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in commercial real estate development and analytical experience modeling commercial real estate transactions. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and strong working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (written, verbal and listening) and organizational skills.
