Loan Servicing Specialist

Washington Capital Management Inc. is seeking a person responsible for performing routine servicing duties related to commercial loans including the processing and recording of loan payments.  In addition, this person will assist in administering WCM’s property insurance programs and will assist in other accounting functions in support of the real estate accounting group. 

Washington Capital Management is a multi-strategy investment manager who offers strategies/portfolios in stocks, bonds and commercial real estate (equity and debt).  WCM manages over $5.4 billion in investment assets.   Our firm serves as an investment manager primarily for institutional accounts, such as pension and profit sharing plans, corporations and charitable organizations.  WCM is 100% employee-owned.

WCM offers exceptional company benefits, including a 401K Profit Sharing Plan, and a competitive compensation package.   Currently, the Company contributes 20% to employee 401(K) plans, subject to IRS regulations.  No employee contribution required.  The company has historically paid bonuses in addition to base compensation.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and post incoming mortgage payments.
  • Monitor borrower’s evidence of insurance to ensure compliance with loan document requirements. Work with borrowers/agents to maintain required insurance coverage.
  • Request and analyze annual borrower financial information.
  • Track expiration of UCC filings; prepare and forward continuations, terminations, amendments, etc. to Unisearch. Monitor return of filed/recorded UCC’s.
  • Process invoice requests.
  • Coordinate annual property inspections. Track inspection completion and report to Portfolio Asset Managers.
  • Assist with loan modifications or additional documentation required due to special circumstances.
  • Assist in the renewal of the blanket insurance policies.
  • Monitor any claims reported and assist property managers and asset managers with claims process if needed.
  • Serve as a communication link between property insurance carrier and asset managers as property insurance inspections are performed. Provide asset managers with final reports once inspections are completed.  Follow-up with asset managers regarding any areas of critical concern.
  • Assist in the daily operations of the real estate accounting group. Provide support during absences.
  • Assist in support of other administrative office duties as necessary, include front desk coverage.



Position Qualifications:

  • Two years of college desired or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum two years’ experience servicing commercial mortgages.

  • Knowledge of basic accounting.

  • Detail orientated, good organizational and analytical skills.Effective customer service skills, including phone and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
