The company is a land developer and homebuilder in North America which entitles and develops land to create master planned communities, and builds and sells lots to third-party developers as well as their own home building division.
The company also participates in select, strategic real estate opportunities including infill projects, mixed use developments, and joint ventures. It controls over 100,000 lots and operates in the following markets: Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Austin, Denver, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Diego, and the Washington D.C. area.
Based in Denver, CO and reporting to the President, Colorado, the VP of Construction will manage and oversee the construction of 400 to 500 residential units a year.
The individual shall be well versed in all facets of residential construction e.g. attached townhome product, condominium, detached entry level to detached executive housing. The VP will provide quality control and be able to critique architecture plans to create value add to the plans.
The VP will manage three direct reports consisting of two area managers and a Director of Customer Care. Currently the VP will oversee a department of approximately 20 individuals and is projected to double within three years. The VP must possess strong organization skills, communication skills and well versed in building IT systems and embrace advances in technology to maintain cutting edge management.
The Vice President of Construction and Customer Care is responsible and accountable for monitoring, directing, budgeting (site costs, overhead etc.) adhering to budgeted construction costs, scheduling of all homes, oversight of all field construction, customer service for all homes, construction of commercial recreation buildings and residential structures from blueprint to finished product, by providing leadership, mentoring and direction to all of the construction team.
This role encompasses responsibility for build times, deficiencies and overall quality of the finished product, ensuring policy and procedures are followed and conforming to all specifications including enforcing all governmental policies and OSHA regulations. This position will coordinate with other VPs of the Land, Financial, Sales and Marketing, Acquisition and Product Development departments for all activities relating to the construction of company's neighborhoods.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience is required with a proven track record
• BS degree in civil engineering, construction management, MBA are the preferred advanced degrees sought for the VP of Construction.
