We are seeking a Senior Analyst / Associate in the New York City area to support the investment management team within Greystone Development. The ideal candidate has four to six years of relevant experience in real asset management, development, acquisitions or real estate investment banking. Strong financial modeling skills are required. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing a portfolio of residential and commercial real estate assets in various stages of development and operations

  • Analyze and prepare portfolio level analytics including capitalization scenarios, equity projections and overall profitability analysis

  • Run cash flow waterfall analysis to evaluate distributions from operations and capital events

  • Prepare internal quarterly presentations and materials for senior management

  • Assist capital transaction diligence efforts including due diligence management, contract negotiations and closing

  • Prepare financial models, investment narratives and debt request packages

  • Prepare annual business plans and hold/sell analysis to achieve investment objectives of each asset

  • Review of monthly reporting packages prepared by third-party management companies; prepare monthly and quarterly reports due to external lenders and partners

  • Coordinate with development managers in preparing monthly draw package, reviewing construction budgets and presenting project development summaries to senior management

  • Minimal travel may be required on an as needed basis

  • Carrying out special projects as required

Skills and Attributes Required

  • Strong computer and financial modeling skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point and Adobe Acrobat

  • Must have strong work ethics

  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills

  • Must be highly self-motivated pursuing continuous improvement to develop a comprehensive understanding of the business

  • Ability to work independently and with a team with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

Educational and Professional Requirements

  • Ideal candidate has 4-6 years’ experience in acquisitions, asset management, development or real estate investment banking

  • Experience underwriting multifamily, healthcare and mixed use properties a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in finance, economics, accounting, engineering or other analytical / quantitative fields)
