KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The company seeks to hire a Senior Vice President of Global Real Estate in a newly created position focused on maximizing the value of their real estate portfolio and assessing strategic opportunities to expand the company’s footprint and increase shareholder value. This hire will report directly to the CFO and oversee a corporate real estate team of approximately 20 professionals across the US. The successful candidate must also be capable of developing strong industry relationships with customers, owners and developers, technology providers and commercial service companies. He or She will be a collaborative team player who will drive best- in-class performance within the entrepreneurial, fast-paced culture of the company.
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Accountability for development of a global real estate strategy, including acquisitions, lease renewals and administration, development, and dispositions to maximize value and deliver the most accessible network to customers.
  • Identify and deliver unique transactions or real estate solutions to create efficiencies for the global network within the transportation and logistics segments.
  • Accountable for driving best practice real estate processes that result in improvements in cost, quality, and performance.
  • Envision short, medium and long-term market changes in the industrial real estate segment and establish a strategic approach to effectively manage the real estate portfolio.
  • Develop and drive an efficient real estate process enabled by best-in-class technology platforms and reporting systems.
  • Lead and coordinate a global facilities management strategy for regional implementation, including oversight and management of third-party providers including vendor contracts for facilities management and data management tools.
  • Partner with the executive team and divisional and regional business leaders to assist in the achievement of business goals, corporate strategies and targets; identify ways in which real estate opportunities can support and facilitate those goals.

  • Quickly learn the business, organization, people, and key stakeholders with a focus on building solid relationships and trust, earning the respect from all involved.
  • Work with the senior leadership team, assess the overall real estate portfolio and establish an initial strategy and tactical plan to unlock significant real estate value.
  • Centralize and improve the operational efficiencies within the real estate operations including data consolidation and technology improvements
  • Develop and implement a global facilities management strategy, including optimal mix of in-house and third-party resources, to improve maintenance efficiency and reduce costs.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
The Senior Vice President of Global Real Estate must be a forward-thinking and strategic real estate professional with exceptional communication and leadership skills and a proven track- record of successfully overseeing a large-scale portfolio across a diverse global footprint with a wide-range of assets. He/she must have outstanding business judgment and be prepared to contribute to broader business matters and complex decisions addressed by the senior management team and the Board.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in developing and leading real estate strategies for large and diverse organizations, preferably in the industrial sector.
  • Experience designing and executing creative real estate transactions with various counter-parties including landlords, real estate investors, developers and customers to maximize the value of the real estate portfolio to the company and its customers.
  • A strong industry leader with experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop “best in class” strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines
  • Experience developing strategic real estate initiatives that align with business goals and budget; presenting and reporting on the execution of real estate strategy to appropriate stakeholders, executives and senior management
  • Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
  • Ability to identify, isolate, and resolve complex issues and recommend and implement commercial strategies and solutions to resolve problems. Very strong financial acumen with experience in the industrial business
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial instincts, and strong relationships across the real estate industry, and a comprehensive understanding of real estate cycles and trends

EDUCATION
A bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree in business and/or real estate preferred.
 
COMPENSATION
The successful candidate will be offered an attractive compensation package which will include a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus, and participation in the Company’s attractive long-term incentive program.
