Development Analyst – Northern California

 

The Development Analyst is a highly visible position on a small development team responsible for executing $1B Bay Area pipeline.

TCR is looking for a highly motivated self-starter to assist with underwriting new target opportunities and to process existing development pursuits. The position is focused on the ground-up development of market-rate multifamily rental projects. The Development Analyst’s primary responsibility is to support the development team on the pursuit of new development business, market research, due diligence, site acquisition, design, financing, construction, sales/leasing and reporting.

The ideal applicant will have 1-3 years of real estate experience in the Bay Area; experience with the zoning and permitting processes and working with architects, consultants and general contractors is preferred.

  • Assist various market analyses and financial feasibility research, and conduct preliminary due diligence.
  • Create pro formas and schedules for new developments including market information, operating expense data, and estimated hard and soft costs.
  • Prepare the soft cost and construction draw process and monthly project reports.
  • Create monthly debt/equity partner and asset management reports.

 

Experience & Requirements:

  • 1-3 years development experience in market-rate multifamily rental product in the Bay Area.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Underwriting and market analysis experience.
  • Experience tracking budget versus proforma, change orders, construction reports, etc.
  • Team-oriented, shows ownership of assigned tasks; works well independently and collaborates effectively with other team members.
  • Proven organization and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and set appropriate expectations for deliverables and timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills & presentation skills are required.
