University Student Living/The Michaels Organization has a full time position for an Asset Management Analyst located at our corporate office in Marlton, New Jersey 08053.

The Asset Management Analyst will be responsible for performing various analysis related to overseeing the investment life cycle after a property is delivered or acquired and assisting in executing the planned investment strategy.   This position will report to the Vice President of Finance.  The role provides the opportunity to grow with the company and progress into an asset manager role.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the development and execution of asset strategies, including the ongoing monitoring of such strategies during the holding period, to maximize the value of each asset
  • Maximize total return for each asset in the portfolio through the analysis of property efficiencies and identify opportunities for improved performance
  • Work closely with the Operations team to provide support to achieve of business plans, budgets and forecasts
  • Own the annual property budgeting template and budgeting process
  • Maintain lender compliance responsibilities
  • Perform valuation and ad hoc analysis and explain the analysis to various investment partners
  • Perform regular refinance analysis and assist in property refinances
  • Perform due diligence analysis on existing asset acquisitions 
  • Assist in asset dispositions

 

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or related field with strong analytical and quantitative skills.  Understanding and execution of concepts such as IRR, cash-on-cash, and NPV will be required.  Candidate with be a self-starter who has the ability to learn quickly, work independently and as a team member, and complete tasks with minimal guidance in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. Strong knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.  Accounting knowledge and the ability to understand financial statements is very important. Ideal candidate will have 1-2+ years’ experience with student housing/multifamily properties, in an asset management or valuation capacity.
