Qualifications

This position requires the following qualifications:

 

  • Minimum four year degree in accounting
  • At least five years commercial real estate accounting experience
  • At least two years of Yardi Voyager experience
  • The position is located in Danbury, Connecticut

 

Job Description-Senior Accountant

A Senior Accountant will be responsible for the financial duties described below and will report to the Director of Asset Management and CFO.

 

Job Responsibilities

This position must execute the accounting/financial processes for our Connecticut portfolio consisting of two Class A commercial office properties and six medical office properties.  Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

 

  • Prepare/record deposits of monthly rent
  • Prepare monthly rent statements for approximately 30 tenants
  • Prepare as necessary, bill backs to tenants
  • Review/approve coding of accounts payables in Yardi PayScan
  • Assist as needed with accounts payables/receivables issues including research and communication
  • Oversee fixed asset maintenance in Asset Keeper software and prepare month end depreciation entries
  • Prepare/research month end accrual/prepaid entries
  • Coordinate timely maintenance of monthly mortgage payments and debt service schedules
  • Review month-end financial reports and coordinate necessary adjustments
  • Comply with required lender financial reporting requirements
  • Prepare/update monthly reserves analysis
  • Track property construction projects to budget as needed
  • Assist with preparation of reserve draws and coordinate receipt with property manager
  • Prepare/record monthly investor distribution accounting
  • Oversee/generate financial statement reports for quarterly reporting to investors including analysis and preparation of variances to budget
  • Oversee/review annual property budgets with property managers
  • Prepare annual Operating Expense reconciliations
  • Prepare annual property tax listings
  • Prepare annual Form 1099 reporting
  • Prepare year end tax packages for tax return preparation
