Denham Wolf is seeking a senior real estate professional to lead our Development Services practice group in the planning, structuring, and negotiating of real estate development projects for the New York City nonprofit community.
Primarily, the Development Services group helps clients to understand the development potential of the real estate that they control, to determine the viability and mission impact of undertaking a development project, and to prepare for such a project. These engagements often include the sourcing of a development partner, often through the preparation and administration of an RFP, and the subsequent negotiation of partnership terms. The Development Services group also serves nonprofits that aspire to participate in development opportunities as a means of acquiring control of real estate. In both cases, typical projects comprise robust site analysis, project- and organizationally-specific financial analysis, space programming, assembly of key project consultants, active engagement with local communities and New York City’s developer community, and substantial coordination of transaction documents, design, and other predevelopment activities.
The Director is tasked with overseeing the delivery of the above services, and ensuring the quality of these services. The Director will also be actively involved in marketing and selling Denham Wolf’s services and is expected to help grow Denham Wolf’s market share. Responsibilities include the ongoing review of the sales pipeline and new business development strategies, participation in pitches, attendance at key events (sometimes in a speaking capacity), competition assessments, and collaborating with the Marketing group in the preparation of responses to requests for information, qualifications, or proposals.
In fulfilling these responsibilities, the Director will work closely with the firm’s two Co-Presidents and other members of the management team. The Director of Development Services role is full-time, New York-based, and reports directly to the two Co-Presidents of Denham Wolf.
