Riverside Capital, The Michaels Organization presently has an excellent opportunty for a Chief Financial Officer located in Marlton, NJ  08053.

Riverside Capital is a rapidly growing low income housing tax credit syndication firm based in Marlton, NJ.  Riverside is privately held and has a national scope of activity. The principal owners of Riverside are The Michaels Organization, the largest privately held developer of affordable housing in the United States and Berkadia, one of the largest multifamily lenders and brokers in the United States owned by Berkshire Hathaway and Leucadia National. The primary business of Riverside is to raise capital for the purchase of low income housing tax credits, which is used to finance affordable housing projects.  Riverside has raised approximately $900 million in tax credit equity and currently oversees the operations of approximately 75 projects in a variety of investor funds.

The CFO of Riverside Capital is primarily responsible for overseeing the finance, accounting, and management reporting functions of the company. This includes corporate and fund accounting, and financial reporting for the company, including audits and tax returns.  The CFO is also responsible for reporting on Riverside’s financial performance and providing forecasts to the Riverside leadership team and ownership.  The CFO reports to the President and is part of the Riverside executive leadership team.


Job Responsibilities:

Establishes yearly financial objectives that align with the company’s plan for growth and expansion.

Responsible for all financial related information including general ledgers and financial statements.

Manages the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for board and investors.

Supports the President with the preparation of monthly and annual financial plans.

Monitors accounting and financial policies and procedures.

Oversees supervision, training, recruiting and evaluation of all assigned accounting and financial personnel.

Oversees preparation and ensures timely filing of all local, state and federal tax returns and audited financial statements.

Provides financial review of legal documents, including, but not limited to, fund operating agreements and vendor contracts.

Ensures full transparency of the financial performance of the company and conducts all activities in a highly ethical and professional manner acting in the best interests of the organization.

Oversees treasury functions.

Ensures the timely and accurate consolidation of month-end close process.

Voting member of the investment committee.


     Required Experience:

Approximately ten years of experience as a CFO or in senior financial leadership position.

Proficiency in GAAP

Demonstrated leadership ability


     Required Education/Training:

Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business, accounting or economics preferred

An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus

CPA preferred

Real estate experience preferred
