Empire Management is a privately-held New York City real estate management and development firm focused on superior quality multifamily, office, and hotel assets. Empire is seeking to hire a Director of Acquisitions who will be responsible for evaluating potential value-add development and acquisition opportunities as well as assisting in evaluating the performance of existing assets. Primary responsibilities include leading a team of analysts in sourcing acquisitions, creating and analyzing detailed financial spreadsheets, underwriting and performing due diligence on potential investment opportunities, conducting market research and analysis, participating in investor meetings and presentations. 

Responsibilities include:

-Leading the team of analysts in sourcing and identifying potential acquisitions and development opportunities.

-Prepare complex financial analyses including cash flow projections, operating pro formas, valuations, investment returns and sensitivity analyses on prospective property acquisitions or development. 

-Produce marketing materials and presentations, and participate in meetings with owners and partners on potential acquisition and redevelopment opportunities. 

-Participating in investor meetings and presentations, including reviewing and analyzing presentation materials

-Build, update and understand dynamic financial models in both Excel and Argus.

-Gather and evaluate economic, demographic and real estate market data for input into project-specific deliverables and valuation models.

-Participate in the origination and execution of property financings and recapitalizations.

-Assist in the planning, construction and marketing aspects of the development process.

-Assist in formulating long-term asset strategies.

-Assist with due diligence and closing activities.

-Work on special projects as assigned.


-Proficiency in ARGUS, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

-Strong financial analysis experience

-Ability to multi-task, work successfully under pressure and effectively manage time and workload.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

-Ability to work independently or within a team to build relationships and interact effectively with business partners.


  • 4 year degree in finance or a related business degree
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
  • 5-8 years of professional experience
  • Excellent communication, organizational, presentation and analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks under pressure
