The Real Estate Accountant is responsible for a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and reporting tasks. Tasks include all accounting functions related to accounts payable and accounts receivable including deposits (cash/check receipts). Real Estate Accountant will also assist RE Controller with the following: financial reports, journal entries, expense reports, budget process, funding requests, balance sheet reconciliations, documenting policies and procedures and special projects.

Job Responsibilities:

Reviews invoices for coding accuracy and approvals, issue checks for signatures and mailing and record ACH disbursements.

Sales tax filings.

Assists in the 1099 Process.

Performs intercompany billing.

Processes monthly invoices to clear inter-company balances.

Prepares and records bank deposits for cash/check receipts.

Reviews expense report export and creates journal entry for Corporate Accountant.

Assists in preparing monthly and annual financial statements.

Assists the Corporate Accountant in preparing balance sheet reconciliations.

Participates in departmental meetings.

Assists the Corporate Accountant in preparing budget templates and uploading into Great Plains.

Responsible for petty cash distribution and reconciliation.

Assists the accounting department in updating policies and procedures related to above job duties.

Assists the accounting the department with special projects and deadlines.

Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.

Insurance tracking, processing, reconciliations for real estate.


Job Requirements:

2-year degree or equivalent work experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger, and budgeting.

Great Plains or other ERP system preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
