Position Summary

The Analyst will conduct research and analysis of economic, demographic, real estate and financial market conditions. The individual will be an important member of the forecasting team, utilizing in-house models to develop economic and property sector forecasts. The Analyst will contribute to consulting engagements covering a broad range of topics such as economic analysis, real estate market overviews for equity and debt fundraising materials, property sector white papers, and public policy issues. The successful candidate will have the ability to work with large quantities of data and produce written reports conveying the analysis through clear and concise language. The ideal applicant is a motivated self-starter and highly detail-oriented individual with demonstrated intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn. The position is based in Berkeley. 


  • Analyze economic, demographic, real estate and financial data.
  • Author reports analyzing national, regional and metropolitan area macro trends.
  • Contribute to real estate forecasting procedures.
  • Collaborate on real estate consulting projects through analysis, data support and report writing.
  • Provide analytical support, including memos and data, to external clients.
  • Assist with production of presentation materials for senior team and external clients.
  • Understand and convey the firm’s outlook on macroeconomic trends, capital markets and real estate property sectors.
  • Interact with clients, including executive-level real estate and financial industry individuals.



  • Minimum 1 year relevant experience.
  • Understanding of economic and financial concepts required.
  • Demonstrated interest in commercial or residential real estate.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • Must be able to work efficiently with time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Data or statistical analysis experience is a plus, familiarity with databases helpful.
  • Expert with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign or other desktop publishing software useful.
  • VBA experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, real estate, finance, urban planning or related field required.
