St. Michael's Abbey

The Norbertines are a Roman Catholic order of priests whose primary apostolate is religious and educational teaching. The local Abbey is a monastic community and novitiate, which began in the 1960's with 7 members and now has almost 50 priests and well over 20 seminarians. Additionally, beyond proving daily pastoral care and educational services to selected Catholic schools and parishes in Southern California, their current Abbey location has long included an onsite college preparatory high school for boys with over 60 boarding students. The Norbertines are truly a successful and growing order. As result they acquired a nearby substantial plot of land, which is sited for the construction of a New Abbey.
