LStar Management is a privately held real estate investment firm based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Founded in late 2007 during the initial phase of the most recent real estate crisis, LStar was created to respond to the investment opportunities created by the real estate market downturn. Since 2010, LStar has acquired, or controls, more than 50,000 residential units in 12 states and it has no debt on any of its assets. The firm has co-investment partnerships with some of the nation’s leading financial institutions. LStar has invested in many asset classes, including residential and commercial land, golf, senior housing, and mixed-use. As of Q4 2014, the firm's portfolio exceeds $1 billion in value.
