The City of Detroit’s Department of Housing and Revitalization seeks a:
Director – Public-Private Partnerships
This position will provide an opportunity to lead project teams directly responsible for the revitalization of the City of Detroit. Specifically the position will be responsible for some of the City’s most important and high-profile housing and mixed-use development projects, as well as the development of housing policy for the City.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Oversee the development, funding and completion of large and complex mixed-use and housing developments
• Analyze and evaluate, on a quantitative and qualitative basis, the effectiveness of program operations to meet established goals and objectives
• Develop, administer, monitor and/or evaluate economic and community development programs, grants and/or contracts for conformance, effectiveness and timeliness
• Develop cost analyses of projects or perform cost-benefit or economic evaluations of current or projected programs
• Utilize data collection and analysis techniques to evaluate individual programs; submit oral and written reports to management personnel for their consideration and decision-making
• Research and investigate new or improved business and management practices for application to agency programs or operations
• Perform and support grant application development as directed and in coordination with City department staff
• Testify before grant committees and at other public forums with recommendations in the area of funding, special conditions and grant administration to provide expert technical advice
Possesses:
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field
• Familiarity with housing policy
• 5-7 years of relevant experience
• 2 or more years in a supervisory position
