About the Company
HAL History
HAL's roots date back to April 18, 1873, when the Nederlandsch-Amerikaansche Stoomvaart-Maatschappij (N.A.S.M.) was founded in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. For most of its history, the Company operated ocean shipping and travel businesses. In 1989, HAL sold its principal operating unit, Holland America Line and since then, HAL has embarked on a strategy to build a diversified international holding company.
HAL Real Estate, Inc. is the Seattle based real estate subsidiary of HAL Holding N.V., an international holding company based in Curacao. All shares of HAL Holding are held by HAL Trust and form the Trust's entire assets. HAL Trust's shares are quoted on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
HAL Real Estate, Inc. came into being in 1993 and is headquartered in Seattle, Washington.
