About the Company
Founded in 1924 as the College of Jewish Studies, Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership is a non-denominational, accredited institution of Jewish higher education. Spertus programming focuses on two areas: Adult Jewish learning, including graduate degree programs in Jewish Studies, public programs, arts exhibits and installations, and library and archival resources—and on the growth of Jewish communal leaders, with graduate and certificate programs in Jewish leadership and professional studies, master classes and professional workshops, leadership symposia, and mentoring.
The Spertus facility, built in 2007, has won numerous architectural awards and received silver LEEDs certification for its sustainable design. The facility engages in an active rental program under the name of Venue SIX10, and houses tenants which include Meadville Lombard Theological School as well as the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
