Pay and Benefits: BART offers comprehensive compensation and benefits programs. Benefits include CALPERS pension (2% at 55 for classic members); excellent medical (effective January 1, 2016 current employee cost $137.79 monthly for most plans), vision, and dental coverage; supplemental insurances; paid holidays and vacation; as well as two investment programs, one of which is entirely funded by BART. BART does not participate in Social Security. Complementary BART passes for employee and qualifying dependents.
Pay Rate: Payband 9 (NR): $105,894.61 - $164,139.13
This position is responsible for the development and advancement for Board consideration of new transit oriented development (TOD) policy including the following:
- Assessment of development proposals;
- Identifying and securing developers;
- Securing Board authorization to implement development proposals,
- Negotiating and executing agreements related to TOD; and
- Overseeing implementation and operation of all TOD projects, overseeing, management, and staff members.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Four (4) years of (full-time equivalent) verifiable professional and relevant managerial or administrative experience which includes strategic planning and policy analysis, organizing and planning staff activities, and preparing recommendation for organizational action.
Managerial/supervisory experience is preferred. Experience in a public setting is also preferred. Transit organization experience is desirable.
Substitution: Additional experience as outlined above may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis. A college degree is preferred.
