Abacus Capital Group LLC is a privately-owned, SEC-registered investment advisor, focused on investing in multifamily real estate, primarily on behalf of public and private institutional investors. Since its inception in 2004, Abacus has purchased over 19,000 apartment units and $2.2 billion of apartment properties in markets nationwide.

Our experience in multiple deal structures, including development joint ventures, asset pre-sales, operational turnarounds and physical rehabilitations has supported our belief that value can be created at any stage of the life cycle of an investment.

Abacus is presently making investments in two distinct strategies – the “Core Income” strategy which seeks newer assets with longer-term hold periods, and the “Value-Add” strategy which aims for assets that require physical or operational improvements to meet their full potential.

Abacus’ investors are mainly institutional and are comprised  primarily of public and private pension funds.  Abacus has a national platform, which has invested   in all eight NCREIF regions. While the firm has “target markets” that it focuses on for investment, Abacus’s philosophy is to have the flexibility to take advantage of compelling opportunities in any market across the United States.

The Abacus team, spread coast to coast, presently comprises 15 individuals, who have an average of 7 years of service with the company.
