About the Company
The MIT Center for Real Estate at MIT has a long tradition of scholarship in real estate economics and finance. The Center established the first Master of Science degree program in Real Estate Development in the United States, launched in 1984. Based in the School of Architecture & Planning and now in its fourth decade, the MIT/CRE has been an influential leader in scholarship bridging between Academia, Private Industry and Government for the advancement of the global real estate industry and the contribution of that industry to the quality and sustainability of the built environment. In keeping with MIT’s ethos of harnessing technology to make the world better, the Center’s scholarly tradition is interdisciplinary, spanning and synergizing across economics, finance, design, policy, management, law, technology, and engineering. An appreciation of how environmental sustainability and social justice can enhance the built environment is a hallmark of the MIT/CRE’s intellectual tradition.
