Homestead Community Land Trust - WA
About the Company
Homestead Community Land Trust creates lasting stability, equity, and opportunity by developing land and housing in trust—giving lower-income households the opportunity to purchase a home that’s affordable now and for generations to come.
We’re not just building homes—we’re restoring balance to a system that’s left too many behind. By removing land from the market and placing it in community stewardship and collective ownership, we protect families from displacement, expand access to opportunity, and help repair the legacy of housing discrimination—and help ensure that the American promise of ownership is extended fairly to all.
Each home we build delivers generational benefit—protecting public and private investment while giving families the opportunity to build lasting equity.
Our growing supply of permanently affordable homes plays a vital role in creating neighborhoods where people of all incomes can put down roots, build wealth safely, and contribute to thriving, resilient communities.
When modest-income families are given the tools to succeed, entire communities grow stronger—economically, socially, and environmentally.
Homestead follows the classic community land trust model pioneered by Civil Rights leaders—combining the benefits of ownership with the security of permanent affordability. We build new homes, raise funds to make them truly affordable, and offer long-term support so that homeowners—and the communities they love—can flourish for decades to come.

About the CEO
As CEO of Homestead Community Land Trust, I lead with a commitment to land-based justice: returning control, opportunity, and equity to communities historically excluded from ownership. We don’t treat permanently affordable homeownership as a housing product—we use it as a strategy to repair harm and prevent displacement. My leadership spans the full continuum of real estate and justice—structuring land acquisition, public financing, and long-term stewardship models rooted in racial equity and community ownership. I’ve secured millions in public and philanthropic capital, built strong coalitions, and led complex development projects across King County. I’ve mentored, supported, and advocated for emerging and established community land trusts across Washington State. I’ve midwifed the birth—and rebirth—of CLTs grounded in community will.
