Mercatus Partners is a San Diego-based real estate investment firm focused primarily on acquiring and developing Small- and Mid-Bay Industrial properties in high-growth markets throughout the U.S. In addition to our industrial investments, Mercatus helps to oversee a significant portfolio of institutional multifamily assets alongside a group of best-in-class Co-GP partners. Our principals bring decades of experience across real estate investment, development, asset management, construction, capital markets, leasing, and operations. About the CEO
Mercatus Partners was founded by Christopher Russell, who serves as Managing Director and leads the firm’s investment and operational activities. Under his leadership, Mercatus has sponsored or co-sponsored more than $2.0 billion in real estate transactions across markets throughout the United States.
Christopher brings institutional experience to an entrepreneurial platform. He previously served on the Real Estate Equity and Alternative Investments team at Pacific Life, where he played an instrumental role in scaling the Fortune 300 life insurer’s equity real estate portfolio from $450 million to $3.5 billion. Before that, as Managing Director of Acquisitions and Capital Markets at RedHill Realty Investors, he sourced, negotiated, and managed partnerships with several of the country’s leading financial institutions.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s in finance from the University of Utah.
