Prime Retail, Inc. is a self-administered and self-managed real estate investment trust (REIT) engaged in the ownership, development, construction, acquisition, leasing, marketing and management of manufacturers' outlet centers throughout the United States. Now the largest owner and manager of outlet centers in the world, the company has been a developer of retail and factory outlet centers since 1988 and completed its initial public offering on March 22, 1994. The company’s portfolio, which has been branded under the signature “Prime Outlets,” currently includes 41 outlet centers in 25 states and Puerto Rico totaling approximately 11.6 million square feet.
