About the Company
Balboa Financial has specialized in arranging both debt and equity (or mezzanine) for the ground up construction of retail, office and condominium properties; and the conversion of existing properties to alternate uses, such as apartments to condos, office buildings to loft apartments, airplane hangars to office buildings and conventional apartments to student housing. The vast majority of the $840 million financing closed over the last five years has been non-recourse and well over half has been high leverage in excess of 92% loan-to-cost.
There is no type of property or financing we have not closed or underwritten. Our diligence and knowledge of the financing process and capital markets results in an exclusive engagement agreement on virtually all of our business. Our references from developers and investors in all asset classes are extremely strong with nine out of ten transactions being closed with repeat customers, or their friends and family members.
