About the Company
The Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center is owned and operated by the Orange County Council, Boy Scouts of America. The 210-acre facility is brand new – construction was completed in October 2009 – and it features: a 10,000 square foot dining hall with professional kitchen; beds for 280 campers; tent camping areas for 300 people; two swimming pools - one with a water slide; fabricated mine with two shafts and a crank-operated dumbwaiter for learning about Earth’s resources, rocks and minerals, and mining; two-acre citrus grove and an organic garden for learning about healthy eating, agriculture, plant science, entomology and related subjects; two 11.5 inch telescopes, binoculars; 5 miles of hiking trails on site that link to many miles of trails that are located in Irvine Regional Park and Santiago Oaks Regional Park; high and low ropes courses; two zip lines and many other amenities. Our programs range from half-day through five-day overnight academic and recreational camps for the youth of Orange County.
