Palatine Capital Partners Management (“Palatine”) is a principal investment firm founded in 2007, focused on making complex, lower middle market investments in US real estate. Palatine combines operating and transactional expertise in needs-based, consumer-oriented strategies: commercial (self-storage, small bay industrial, and parking) and residential (student housing and multifamily). The firm pursues opportunistic real estate investments, encompassing a variety of strategies including development, value-add or distressed themes, strategic 'buy and hold' scenarios in locations with strong long-term dynamics, or creative preferential structures with significant capital protection. The firm invests on both a direct basis and as a capital partner (LP) with top tier operating partners who have asset class and/or geographical expertise.
Since its 2007 inception, Palatine has raised four opportunistic equity funds (PREF I, PREF II and PREF III are fully invested/committed, PREF IV is a ~$595 million vehicle), one secondary debt fund (PSCOF – fully realized) and made numerous programmatic balance sheet investments. To date, Palatine has executed 120+ investments with a total capitalization of more than $3.0 billion.

About the CEO
Alex Hurst founded Palatine in January 2007 and is responsible for overseeing all investment activity and the strategic direction of the firm. Prior to founding Palatine, Mr. Hurst was a vice president in the real estate group at Avenue Capital Group. Before Avenue, Mr. Hurst worked in the real estate group at Perry Capital and began his real estate career at Tishman Speyer in their executive rotation program.
Prior to working in real estate, Mr. Hurst was a founding member of mondus.com, an internet business headquartered in Europe. There, Mr. Hurst served in a variety of capacities, including as head of strategy and director of investments. Mondus.com was partially sold in 2000 to SEAT.IT, an Italian media conglomerate, for $150 million.
Mr. Hurst graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Political Science in 2001. Mr. Hurst serves on the Board of Trustees for the Hotchkiss School and as a member of the Investment Committee, the Board of Trustees of the Pérez Art Museum Miami, and previously served on the Board of Overseers of University of Pennsylvania’s School of Design.
