Role Overview


 

As a Capital Markets Associate, you act as a key player to the Capital Markets team, overseeing all new loan originations and due diligence processes while also providing related analyses. Here are the roles you’ll play:

The Reports Guru

 

  • Model complex cash flows in Excel and calculate Debt Yields, Debt Service Coverage Ratios, and other key metrics to analyze debt options
  • Read various loan and JV documents to summarize and communicate key items to various team members
  • Organize lender feedback on all deals into database to streamline future underwriting; oversee the debt origination and due diligence process for all new loans

The Liaison

 

  • Reconcile sources and uses to create flow of funds schedules that assist in closings
  • Communicate directly with JV partners
  • Coordinate with Legal, Accounting, and Investments to move deals to closing
  • Maintain relationships with lenders
  • Support the senior leadership in the process of raising JV equity, including due diligence, presentations, and modeling

Your Building Blocks of Success


 

  • Strong 5+ years of experience in a related role within a consulting, investment banking, debt brokerage, Big 4 accounting firm, etc.; experience in the multifamily industry or working with accountants, lawyers, and financial professionals preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, public accounting, mathematics, related major, or equivalent experience required
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Superb analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
