OVERVIEW:

Since our formation fifteen years ago, Dalan Management and its affiliates have developed an integrated, multifaceted real estate investment and management company.  The company owns and operates a portfolio of multifamily, mixed use, and commercial assets with a market capitalization of over $1 billion in New York, New Jersey, Texas, Arizona and California.

DESCRIPTION:

In connection with the continued growth of its company, Dalan Management is seeking to hire a strong, advanced Director of Accounting to join its team.  Responsibilities will include financial analysis, investor relations and audit preparation. It is essential that the individual is extremely proactive, detail oriented, highly capable of managing multiple roles and enjoys working in a collegial team environment.  This person will work closely with Fortune 100 investment groups to provide scheduled reporting. Great opportunity for growth within the company, this position will work extensively with the principals of the firm.   

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Finance
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting package and entity operation details for all properties
  • Monitor cash flow and regularly update cash flow projections to identify trends and variances
  • Manage the annual audit process.  Prepare annual report packages for audits to external CPA firms
  • Prepare and submit report packages for tax returns to external CPA firms and institutional investors.  Review tax returns and distribute K1s.
  • Comply with reporting requirements of lenders and institutional partners
  • Facilitate the budgeting process, making it possible for the executive team to analyze and make projections
  • Proficiently work within Yardi to make necessary adjustments and improvements to GLs, reports, and account trees suiting the needs of Dalan, its investors and its partners on an ongoing basis
  • Proactively participate in acquisitions, 1031s and major capital events to assure accurate accounting and proper internal procedures
  • Review and distribute K-1’s with carefulness and concern at the investor level
  • Work with and oversee third-party accountants to assure that all deadlines are met in a timely manner
  • Maintain necessary internal accounting reports, such as fixed asset schedules, on an ongoing basis to support accounting and operational needs on a real time basis
  • Complete RPIEs, tax appeals, and certiorari audits in a fashion that supports the portfolio’s optimal performance
  • Cohesively work with all parts of the organization, including construction, property management, asset management, and acquisitions, to assure proper and accurate accounting standards and procedures
Investors
  • Implementing and maintaining the new software to ensure accuracy with submissions to CPAs and investors. 
  • Review distribution schedules
  • Interface with joint venture and individual investors in regards to current investment performance
Lending Platform
  • Implement new software to migrate information to produce advanced reporting packages.  
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Finance/Accounting: 5-10 years minimum
  • CPA preferred
  • Able to prioritize work/projects to meet various deadlines
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Computer skills in Yardi Voyager and Microsoft Office
