JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is an exciting opportunity to join an entrepreneurial and well-capitalized real estate investment team where the sky is the limit. Global RE Group is seeking a creative and hard-working summer intern to help execute current developments and accumulate market research to help identify future opportunities. This person will report to the Vice President to help analyze potential opportunities and provide project/asset management of the acquisition and development pipeline.

 

The ideal candidate will be in the process of obtaining a Bachelors or Masters in Real Estate, Architecture, or Finance and have the drive to learn and participate in the following job responsibilities.

This role will work with our Associate to perform the following:

  • Perform detailed market research on supply/demand fundamentals, economic trends, comparable sales and lease transactions to help identify cities and asset classes to focus attention
  • Develop financial model templates for identified asset and development strategies
  • Underwriting of direct development opportunities, including budget creation, proforma analysis, debt structuring, and identifying market assumptions
  • Underwriting of direct acquisition opportunities, including the analysis of in-place and stabilized revenue and expenses, potential debt financing, and waterfall distributions
  • Underwriting of potential investments in various real estate funds
  • Involvement in real estate organizations to expand network and professional development
  • Working with Associate to perform the due diligence of potential opportunities
  • Observing the negotiation of Purchase and Sale Agreements, Partnership Agreements, and Operating Agreements for potential transactions
  • Assist in all aspects of the development process including, pre-development, pre-construction, construction, closeout, and pre-operation
  • Assist in negotiating and drafting contract terms and scope with design consultants and contractors
  • Review and track monthly construction progress reporting received from partners including but not limited to schedules, applications for payment, etc.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of 3 years of undergrad or underway with Master’s degree with a concentration in real estate, finance, architecture, and/or business
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects at the same time
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to think outside of the box and challenge the traditional methods of real estate development and investment

 

TRAVEL:

  • Potential to travel to local projects for site tours and/or meetings with consultants

 

COMPENSATION:

  • Compensation will be commensurate with the experience level of the candidate
