The individual will have the opportunity to join a small and experienced team where he/she will gain exposure and hands on experience to all aspects of multifamily real estate investing.  The position is intended as a two to three year commitment enabling the candidate to leverage the experience to prepare for MBA school or pursue other opportunities.

Responsibilities:
The Analyst will play an active role in the investment process with the opportunity to work directly with the Acquisitions team and Principals of the firm on all aspects of real estate investing, including acquisitions, financing, fundraising, asset management, capital improvements, repositioning and dispositions. Primary responsibilities include:

• Supporting acquisitions team with all analytical and transactional aspects of acquiring, asset managing and selling an investment, including underwriting, due diligence, market research, financing, closing and preparing leasing, operating and capital improvement analyses.
• Monitoring, analyzing and reporting on the financial performance of investments and communicating internally and to operating/property management partners about the execution of business plans.
• Preparing varied cash flow models and presentations for underwriting investment opportunities and reporting to the acquisitions team on the viability of potential acquisitions
• Participate in investment committee discussions regarding potential acquisitions
• Drive analytical review of acquisition process, deal pipeline report, and underwriting assumptions for annual acquisition strategy session

• Support Senior Asset Managers in the management of portfolio investments to fulfill the firm’s business objectives, including travel to those investments.
• Interfacing with operating partners, including lenders, third party management agents, service providers and the brokerage community.

 

Qualifications:
• 1-2 years post undergrad work experience, preferably in real estate or financial analysis
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills.
• Be self motivated, highly organized and ability to manage multiples tasks and meet strict deadlines.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and responsively in a swiftly evolving marketplace and an entrepreneurial environment.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with financial modeling in Excel.
• Extremely motivated to learn about the real estate industry with a specific interest in multifamily.
• Some travel expected (25%)
