About the Role:

The Senior Financial Analyst will help grow our largest consulting practice in New York (HQ). You will facilitate proactive decision making through forecasting models and drive value with data and analytics during times of transaction and transition. We are seeking an individual with a strong background in data and analytics, complex financial modeling, quantitative analysis, research and due diligence, and a solid foundation in finance and accounting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Provide complex financial planning and analysis to support the consulting group s business goals and initiatives.
  • Lead statistical and financial modeling of assumptive scenarios in support of key business decision-making.
  • Analyze, report on, and draw conclusions from data to provide management with actionable business information.
  • Perform lease analysis versus purchase scenarios, demographics, and commutation analysis.
  • Work in Excel, database and reporting tools to effectively collect and analyze data for deliverables.
  • Utilize strong understanding of operational accounting and finance to provide valuable insight to the group.
  • Establishes credibility quickly through understanding of business issues and providing sound financial analytical support.
  • Communicates financial and operational performance results and participates in the development of formal recommendation to the group.
  • Perform complex data and variation analysis.
  • Complete and support regular and ad-hoc reporting including informal and formal internal and client-ready documents, reports, graphs, charts and presentations.
  • Collaborate with team to compile, review, and analyze due diligence materials.
  • Participate in the development of pitch books and/or client presentations with financial data.
  • Contribute your insights to the client/or prospective engagement by participating in client meetings and assist in closing transactions for the group.

QUALIFCATIONS:

  • Bachelor s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent candidate, a plus.
  • 3 8 years of experience in either Consulting/Advisory (preferably Big 4 or Big 3), Financial Services, or Real Estate industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of finance / accounting concepts (e.g. deep understanding of financial statement mechanics, intermediate working knowledge of debits / credits accounting).
  • Demonstrated ability to apply these finance / accounting concepts using general business acumen to help support analyses and decision making (e.g. financial statement analysis, GAAP, IFRS, variance analysis, financial ratio application, financial budgeting / forecasting, financial and operational reporting / analysis).
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PPT, Excel). Advanced Excel Required.
  • Ability to analyze capital/debt structures of commercial office buildings (i.e. familiarity with TREPP reports, ACRIS, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills to internal and external parties.
  • Demonstrated consistency in values, principles and work ethic.
  • Understanding of and commitment to client service.
  • A desire to work within a fast-paced, diverse, collaborative, and driven team environment.
