Senior Multi Family Asset Manager

The X Company is a real estate development company that exists to improve the way people interact. To do this, we design our common spaces around work from home and class based fitness, provide relative affordability through our unit offerings and design, and use social connectivity as a leasing tool. Headquartered out of Chicago, our project pipeline spans seven major markets, $1B in construction activity, and 10,000+ beds. 

We are looking to bring on a Senior Asset Manager to oversee the performance of The X Company’s national portfolio of mixed-use multifamily apartment buildings.  In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your quantitative expertise and customer-service mindset in a collaborative, fast-paced, and results-oriented environment. The ideal candidate for this role has experience executing successful lease-ups, exceeding expectations in managing the performance of multifamily assets as well as an understanding and appreciation for customer success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the overall success or failure of all property level operations. This means diagnosing and responding to property performance, market challenges, occupancy issues, and various other drivers of asset financial performance
• Responsible for consolidated budgeting and forecasting for all properties
• Serve as the primary lender contact and responsible for all reporting compliance
• Responsible for property level and partnership level annual tax preparation and completion
• Collaborate with the Enterprise team on portfolio level marketing, leasing, and branding efforts. Depending on the task, this includes setting vision, directing, advising, and creating collateral.
• Prepare and communicate all portfolio level reporting metrics to relevant parties
• Oversee the performance and experience of Asset Management Associate
• Develop and implement effective revenue maximization strategies to strengthen the performance of multifamily assets
• Assist in creation and implementation of property level and lifestyle club policies
• Manage the relationship and performance of third-party Property Management

Key Skills

• Advanced proficiency with excel
• Ability to create sophisticated financial models
• Strong familiarity with loan documents, leasing documents, and vendor contracts 
• Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with many different stakeholders including company executives, lenders, team members and property management senior leaders
• Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, professional excellence, and assertive follow-through.
• Operates with a customer-centered mindset
• Comfortable with Yardi

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in an asset management or property operations real estate function
• Hospitality background strongly preferred 
• Must have experience with lease-up and building opening(s)
• Ability to travel 10-25% of the time, up to 50% of the time during building opening
